First and foremost you must understand that hair is not living. In other words you can't truly repair damage that's already done.
At best follicles can be smoothed by product but split ends are a lot like the frayed edges of a towel. Unless you cut off the offending area the frays will get longer.
**The same for your hair, tell your hairdresser you only want enough off to eliminate as many split ends as you can. She can tell as she cuts it.
**I would recommend scissors not razor for a little while as the razor can add to the problem.
**Then ask for a hot oil treatment.
This gives your hair the fastest recovery.
**Realize too that heat whether really hot water, too much sun, or dryer or curling irons truly do damage the hair resulting in a tendency to brittle/dry, and split ends.
**So we know you want that cute style but consider cutting back as much as you can.
**Let your hair air dry as often as possible, blot with towel not rub, and when you use a hot iron try to leave hair in there as short a time as possible.
**Don't opt for the hottest heat setting, try for the lowest that will do the job.
**Try to find ways to add moisture, Aussie 3 minute miracle is a great place to start, they also have a 'Deep' conditioner that's out now. I would also look for smoothing serums.
**Also, don't wash hair every day, go every other day at most.
I know this long and probably not what you wanted to hear but try to remember, your will grow back before you know it and that doing it this way means some discomfort to you (perhaps) for a few weeks, not taking care of it can mean annoyance/discomfort for months.
Who knows you may find you like not having to spend as much time on your hair. And when you do attend special occasions (time to pull out the flat iron!) then you won't have to search as hard for a new look.

You can't. But you can temporarily seal them by using a deep conditioning. Try Pantenes Complete Moisture. My mom uses it for her split ends and it works good.

Sorry, dear, but this is impossible. Once your ends are split, there is no product in the world that can put them back together again. If you don't have them trimmed, the hair can split all the way up your hair to the root, and then you'll really be sorry you didn't just trim the ends. See a hairdresser and stress to her that you only want the split ends trimmed off, and no extra length. Make sure she repeats it back to you to make sure she understands.
After they are cut, you can prevent this from happening again by using Matrix Essentials Instacure Leave-In Treatment. (See here:http://www.matrix.com/products/matrix_es... ) It repairs hair damage and prevents future damage from occuring. Good luck!

you can use products for split ends but they really do not work. Your hair needs to be cut. Hair is dead so there is no repairing it once it is damaged.

you can't .. You have to cut atleast a little....
to prevent split ends in future, conditon and use a good hot oil treatment...
Keep styling products such as blow dryers and curlers etc to a minimum..
olive oil is a cheap way to do a hot oil treatment ... Just warm some and put on the hair for 20 minutes or so...

You have to go in and get your hair cut. It is the only way to get rid of them. You can just tell the hair stylist that you only want a trim or tell them only to cut off a half in or what ever you want cut off. good luck!

If you start taking good care of your hair when you first observe split ends, they can be fixed without a trim. Here's a list of a few things that you can try:
1. Start deep conditioning at least once a week. This is most important.
2. Be careful not to use harsh shampoos.
3. Use a reparative shampoo/conditioner on a regular basis.
4. Stop using heated hair appliances as much as you can.
5. After shampoo rub a little leave-in conditioner onto the ends.
This has worked for me. I've noticed, the split-ends actually fall off during brushing and don't come back if hair is well nourished and hydrated.

You need to get a trim. Split ends are damaged hair and will continue to split even more if left alone.

It's impossible to get rid of split ends without cutting the hair. You can however have a little at a time trimmed off ever 5 weeks. it will help to keep your hair healthy.
Heat damages the hair. There for if you feel the need to blowdry, flat iron, or use a curling iron, make sure you pick up a 'thermal protective spray to put on the hair before applying heat. This protects the hair from massive heat damage, but allows enough heat through to do what you want it to do. It will not make the hair stiff like hairspray will. If you do not manage your split end, it will continue to split and cause breakage.
When your hair is wet, make sure your use a wide tooth comb instead of a brush. Brushing wet hair causes breakage, there fore, split ends. You can't repair with shampoos and conditioners. But you can condition greatly. My favorite... dumb blonde shampoo/conditioner by TIGI - Bed Head if you have highlights (not just blonde highlights). Also, Oatmeal %26amp; Honey shampoo and conditioner by TIGI - Catwalk. The best product for helping hold down flyaways and sealing those split ends would be Design line Silk drops by Regis Salons. It repairs and add shine. I use it on my clients before I blowdry and just before I add hairspray to a finish style. I hope this ehlps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
