you don't shed hair when you are pregnant and breast feeding, so all the hair that your wife retained durning that time is now comming out, I went through the same thing and it is normal and she will not go bald. she can take vitamins but there really isn't anything she can do to stop it besides being pregnant again.

She needs a good multi-vitamin.

Large does of biotin can help (I had to use 5000 units per day) and some women get some relief from using Rogaine too.

Hope that helps.

This is very common. When a woman's hormones start to change back to "normal", loss of hair is a side affect. It will stop though and the hair will grow back.

Make sure your wife is taking a good vitamin and getting good nutrition. If she can get away with it, she should only wash her hair a few times a week and then use a strengthening shampoo.

Unless it is really severe, it is probably normal. I breastfed all three of my kids. I actually noticed the hair loss within a month or two of childbirth even though I breastfed for close to a year. It is the hormones. My hair looked wonderful while I was pregnant but really thinned out after. I always had to get a shorter hair cut to accommodate this after each birth.

It's normal and will resolve itself. Give it time, it really will be okay. It's hormonal.
