you are asking your question in the wrong place! you should have been asking this question in the vets office at the first sign of problem. if your kid was losing hair ,would you be here asking us why? sounds like your 10 month old boxwer puppy has a bad case of irresponsible owner. if you cant afford a vet visit you shouldn't own a pet! take to a vet! or find it a good home. sorry but am tired of animal neglect, and and if we are ever going to it ,we have to be firm. say no to [B.S.L.]

I agree, mange is the likely suspect.
Consult a vet. They'll probably do a skin scraping, and after putting it under a microscope they can tell you for sure whether the cause is mange mites or not.

My puppy had the same problem. It was called demodex. It's a form of mange that is caused by stress. It starts around the eyes and can eventually lead to all over the entire puppy. He has to take medicine for 120 days and it's been about 60 and my puppy is looking much better. Have your vet test him.

Okay.. Another Boxer Q. Right up my alley....Would love to help. First and for most, I would like you to check for allergies. If you have red dye in your dogs food, this could be a problem. Also check some of the main ingredients in his food. This way you can let your vet know. Diet is essential in a dogs health, of course. Parasites, and mange could also be a factor, and is something I'd like for you to see the vet about. Thyroid, can also be the culprit. Have that checked. Seems kinda young for that to be the real issue, but better to be safe than sorry. I have seen many times, a dog lose hair do to stress. Usually, also in older dogs, but, ya never know. With any other questions, you can email me. I'll do my best to help with what I know. I am not a vet, but know a lot about skin conditions. For many issues with the skin,(depending on what it is), there are shampoo's and treatments out there. Check with your vet and then take it from there. Hope I could help. Good luck and take care. Boxers RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

It could be any number of other things, but mange is the most likely suspect. There are two types of mange: demodectic, mentioned earlier, and sarcoptic, otherwise known as scabies, which is transmittable to humans. To the vet with you!
