Does anyone know a way to dye my black hair red without stripping the color first? Not red like a redhead but really red. Quick explanation: I made a bet with one of my friends on our school rivalry football game. If my school won he'd have to dye his hair purple (my school's color) and if my team lost I'd have to dye mine red (his school's color). I really thought this was our year but unfortunately my team lost. I want to be able to go back to my natural color after I've honored the bet. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

You really have to strip the color first. Even though u apply the red dye, you can't see the color because the blk will be dominant. Other option is red extensions (looks like highlights and not the whole head) or a wig. Other option is dying your hair back to it's natural color after the red washes out. Only problem is that you'll have to repeat the process afterwards because the dye will continue to lighten after several washings, until your hair grows out.
