They put a microscope on the scalp so the Doctor can see your scalp in close up. You can see the hair, roots and bulbs in close up as well as dandruff. They explain to you what they are seeing (which hair is dying, which is dead etc.).
They pluch about 10 or 12 hairs or so for the hair analysis. I suppose 10 is Ok if it will save 1000s.
