Ladies tonsuring hair?

Nowdas I see so many ladies tonsure their long hair. I myself seen in one temple. One girl aged about 20 came with a man and lady. I thought that the man is going to shave his head. But mininutes later I saw the girl sat in front of the barber and removed her hair clip letting her long hair lose for shaving. The barber started to shave the hair and long locks of her hair mercylously shaved and falling in her shoulder and lap. She was literally crying but her accomponist simply pacified the girl saying that this is god's work. In the meanwhile the barber almost shaved all the hair and full locks of hair was in her lap. After becoming bald the girl covered her head with hand kerchief. Why parents insist girls to go for head shave inspte of the girls reluctance. After growing nearly for 20 years those long hairs are mercylously shaved in a matter of 10 minutes. I can't even understand how the barber is shaving the long hair. His hand should shiver and tremble. Please give your valid comm

Is this a speech about hair? Come on it don't matter if a woman cuts her hair its her choice to grow it out and then do whatever she want with it. This is not the olden days women don't need hair down to their backs. It makes them look old.

I look at it this way...if you want to keep your hair don't go get it cut off and sit there crying. That's stupid. It's your hair and you can do with it what you want. If God wanted us to be bold we wouldn't grow hair on our heads in the first place.

LADIES MUST UNDERSTAND THAT WHEN THEY DO THIS THEY RIDDING THEMSELVES OF THEIR "GLORY". HAIR TO WOMEN WAS AT ONE POINT KNOWN TO BE THEIR BEAUTY AND PRIDE. MORE THAN THE WOMEN OF TODAY, WHO DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SHAVING IT ALL OFF. YOU MUST REALIZE THAT TIMES HAVE CHANGED AND WOMEN OF TODAY ARE ON THE GO MORE THAN THEY WERE EVEN 20-30 YEARS AGO. IT'S A LOT EASIER TO BRUSH OR COMB VERY LOW HAIR THAN IT IS TO HAVE TO STRAIGHTEN AND STYLE LONG HAIR. YOU ALSO HAVE TO LOOK AT THE WOMEN OF TODAY WHO HAVE BEEN STRICKEN WITH CANCER OR ANY OTHER DISEASE THAT MAY CAUSE THEM TO LOSE THEIR HAIR. AS WE MAY SEE THEM AND FEEL SORRY FOR THEM,THEY MAY SEE IT AS A SAVING GRACE ALONG WITH THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY WHO MAY ALSO CHOOSE TO SHAVE THEIR HEADS IN SUPPORT OF A FAMILY MEMBER. LASTLY,DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE PROGRAMS THEY HAVE STARTED WHERE A YOUNG GIRL,SUCH AS THE ONE YOU SAW MAY BE DONATING HER LONG LOCKS TO A CHARITY TO MAKE WIGS FOR SOMEONE WHO IS HEALTH STRICKEN. THE GOOD THING ABOUT HAIR IS NO MATTER HOW SHORT YOU MAY CUT IT,IT ALWAYS GROWS BACK.

My opinion? The practice is barbaric and is used as a tool to keep the woman subdued and controlled. Just curious - where are you from?

I have really long blonde hair and i would never want it cut off,neither would my parents.

I think if its your choice then go ahead but why a parent would grow there childs hair really long then get them to shave it off is beyond me

It SHOULD be all the owners choice. she may have long hair or short. no one should interfere. and the girl shouldn't LET anyone interfere.
